Never Ever Write In A Bad Mood!
Do This Before You Start!
If you intend on making money writing and publishing content online, it is advised that you do not do any writing while in a bad mood.
Writing in a bad mood will produce bad work.
The late great copywriter, Ted Nicholas, would never sit down to write until he had put himself into the best mood possible.
Before sitting down to write, Ted would shout at the top of his voice “I FEEL WONDERFUL!”
He would continue repeating the phrase until he felt good.
He would dance while he sang the words “I FEEL WONDERFUL!”
Ted would not start any writing until he was feeling good.
Ted had sold billions of dollars worth of products over his career, so it’s safe to say that he knew a thing or two about the power of writing in a good mood.
It makes sense really.
When a person is in a bad mood they don’t always think straight.
Their thinking is darker and is less fluid.
Being in a bad or sad mood is not the most optimal frame of mind for producing great content.
I believe that you can write yourself out of a bad mood.
The act of writing can lift your mood.
Writing is like therapy, however I don’t recommend using much of your writing because it won’t be your best.
Once your mood is lifted, your writing will improve and you will be able to use it.
Make Yourself Happy
OK, so now is the time for me to admit to something embarrassing.
I have a fool proof method of putting yourself in a good mood.
I don’t do it often, but when I do it never fails.
I don’t think I have ever been in a mood too dark for this to work.
So, what do I do to make myself feel real good and lift myself up out of a bad mood and erase any negative and unhappy feelings?
I pretend to laugh.
That’s right, I make myself laugh by doing a ridiculously over-the-top false laugh.
By pretending to do a false laugh, I end up actually laughing.
Why?
Because it is just so damn funny.
It really is ludicrously silly and I cannot not laugh once I get started.
Try it yourself.
If it helps, look in a mirror and watch yourself laugh.
Pretend to be a cartoon character or a character out of a comedy who is flamboyantly over-the-top.
Go crazy and laugh like a maniac.
Do the most stupidly silly laugh as possible for a minute and watch as your pretend laughing makes way for real laughter.
I don’t do it often, but while writing this article I decided to try it again… and guess what…
It resulted in me laughing for real!
It always works.
It never fails.
And when you start to laugh for real, your mood automatically lifts.
Never Underestimate The Power Of Being Happy
Being happy is one of the most powerful hacks for productivity and creativity…and it is something we control… for the most part.
I’m not going to say that this is a cure for clinical or severe depression, or anything like that.
People who are grieving the loss of a friend or family member will need to naturally progress through it.
This may help lift spirits occasionally and it’s worth trying, but it won’t eradicate biological or natural depression or grief.
But, if you want to create the best work possible, make yourself happy.
Do whatever it takes to make yourself happy.
👉 Laugh.
👉 Sing.
👉 Dance.
👉 Do all three together!
Success comes quicker to those who are happy and appear to be happy and full of life… so give yourself a fighting chance by making yourself happy.

I love this opinion. I have to say I don't 100% agree with it. But I respect it. I think that emotion is powerful period, whether happiness or sadness or anger or frustration. Often you can channel that emotion into the writing. But that's just my opinion on it. Great take here.
